R&D Brand Built for Purpose in San Francisco’s brand new Design District
Spear Street Capital came for a logo and brand identity to use in marketing collateral for their new building: 300 Kansas. A first-of-its-kind, zero-carbon advanced manufacturing and R&D workspace in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill/Design District. The visual system reflects the building’s industrial precision and environmental pride, blending architectural inspiration with sustainable storytelling. Working closely with developers and architects, I shaped a visual language that embodies technical rigor, modernity, and the future-forward ethos of maker culture.

The Process
Developed a concise brand mark tailored to the building’s architectural features and modernist leanings.
Drew on industrial and architectural cues like curtain-wall facades and saw-tooth roof silhouettes to inform color palette, typography, and form.
Emphasized environmental integrity, mirroring the zero-carbon and LEED Gold aspirations through clean, grounded visual elements.
Collaborated across disciplines brand, real estate, architecture to ensure cohesion between the building’s function and its visual identity.
